Wedding card

I hope you all enjoyed your new year. I know I did - sat at home, Michael McIntyre on the TV, a glass of bubbly and an evening of craft stuff. We did pop outside for a few minutes at midnight to watch some local fireworks, but after spending the evening in the warm we were quick to come back in!!!

I made this last night for a friend who is getting married in February, and whose wedding colours are red and white.

It should have been so quick to make, but it took ages as I agonised over each element! I'm not good at making 'clean and simple' cards - they always look unfinished! But I'm happy with how this one turned out, in the end.

Red ink with clear embossing powder to make it pop (my favourite colour to watch changing - it's amazing how it turns to goo!) and an xcut heart die impressed into the card blank. The stamps were both free from a magazine ages ago.

The ink is actually fluid chalk which I've read that you can't use with embossing powder - but it works better than my distress inks for embossing so I'm not sure what that's about!

Entered into Allsorts Challenge and Sweet Stampin - New Beginnings challenges, and Penny Black and More - Love and Hearts challenge.

  1. I love CAS--it's the only kind of card I can pull off, so far, and you hit this one out of the park. What a beautiful card--everything is just perfect. I love the embossed heart.

  3. I always struggle with heat embossing as I'm so messy and CAS cards are tricky too! Well done you for combining the two so beautifully. Thank you for playing at Sweet Stampin' and Happy New Year! Tracey x
